The Caribbean Culture Center African Diaspora Institute and La Menta Collective invite you to a film screening of Salud.
Salud explores the relationship between alcoholic father Carlos and his son Junito. Carlos is a young, handsome husband and caring dad but his womanizing ends his marriage. Depressed over the loss of his family and a new relationship that ends abruptly, what begins as an occasional drink to cope spirals into full blown alcoholism that is both gripping and painful to witness.
Hailing from Bushwick, Brooklyn Cesar De Leon does triple duty as the film's screenwriter, director and leading actor. Salud won Best Screenplay Feature Film at the 2009 Beverly Hills Film Festival and has been an official selection at various film festivals across the US.
Please join us for this special screening of Salud in support of an outstanding independent film and a talented filmmaker.
